"Good old age, full of years"

"Abraham...died in good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people." So said Genesis chapter 25 and verse 8. Abraham was indeed very old when he died, at the age of 175 years old.

While I cannot imagine living till 175 years old in Abraham's generation, I do like to live till that age and in good health.

I wonder how he spent his time! I mean without aeroplane, without TV, without internet, with shopping centres, without coffee, without newspaper and a lot of things that we take for granted today.

Today we have so much to do, so I think we should all live till 200 years old. That will be really a very "good old age, full of years".

Come to think of it, live till 200 years old shouldn't be terribly difficult. After all, just got to wake up every morning and live through the day. 200 years = 200 x 365.25 = 73050 days

Of course the government won't like it, the insurance company also won't like it. They call it "risk of longevity", meaning you live too long, and become a risk to their "pockets".

But I like it very much, I'm going to work till 62 years old, or even earlier, then become a happy retiree. Then cruise around the world, try all the good food, walk the Appalachian Trail, play mahjong whole day, play slot machines whole weekend. surf net every day ......

So many things to do. And once hit the 100 years old mark, just got to go around the world and give motivation talks, teaching folks how to live long and fruitful life. Hit the 130 years old mark, time to commission a book and earn royalty from there. Revise the book every 2 years so that it remains the best seller.

I guess money is not a problem once I become the oldest living person in the world. Everyone will pay to hear me talk. Talking is a passion, much nicer to be paid for it. That is indeed rich in every sense.

That's all for now. This blog will continue as long as I am alive, and of course as long as Google is around.
