Good luck or bad luck?

That is usually the way people talk about luck, as if there is only good luck or bad luck.

Whenever we hear that people strike lottery, we say “such a lucky person.” Whenever we hear people make money from stock market investment, we also remark that “so lucky.” As if a person can only has good luck or bad luck.

The world is seldom in black or white. There is no such thing as absolute good luck or absolute good luck.

When I studied Purple Star Astrology (ZWDS, Zi Wei Dou Shu), I had a better understanding of the cycle of luck.

Purple Star Astrology (ZWDS, Zi Wei Dou Shu) uses twelve palaces to analyze our life. Sometimes a person is born with bad luck in certain areas. Some people do not enjoy parental attention no matter how good they are. They lack good luck in parental palace.

Some people do not enjoy good luck in career palace for a certain period in their lives. They may have good luck in career palace for the first ten or twenty years, and bad luck for the next ten or twenty years.

Purple Star Astrology (ZWDS, Zi Wei Dou Shu) is a study of life. Good luck or bad luck has a cycle. Sometimes when we feel bad luck striking our career palace, and we are retrenched. That does not mean that we have bad luck for all aspects of our lives.

Bad luck in Career Palace can affect the Spouse Palace, and our Finance Palace. However, it may have no impact on Children Palace.

Some people have good luck in Career Palace but they have bad luck in Parental Palace. Their parents may suffer from some serious sickness. That can cause much worries for the whole family.

There is no way that a person can have good luck in everything. There must be some part of life that a person does not have good luck in any given time in life. Some happily married couples who are rich and in love with each other simply do not have the luck for children. Their children palaces do not enjoy good luck.

Some people enjoy career luck throughout their lives. They seem to land the best jobs in the world. They are always promoted to cushy positions. They have good luck in career palace.

Most people are interested in yearly luck. For example, many people, especially born in the year of ox and goat, do not enjoy good career luck in 2009. Those born in ox year may suffer bad luck in health too.

That does not mean that they have bad luck in everything. Some have extremely good luck in lottery and investment.

Sometimes just have to wait out the bad luck, and focus on the palace with good luck.

I remember my teacher giving us a real life example. This particular person had ten years of bad luck in Spouse palace. She enjoyed good luck in Wealth palace during the ten years. However, she wanted to get married. And guess what, she suffered three divorces during the ten years period.

I think if she puts in effort to learn about investments, she may become very rich during the ten years of good luck in Wealth palace.

That’s why the Chinese sayings that we should not go against the will of heaven. What for waste time cursing our bad luck in certain aspects of life when we enjoy extremely good luck in other aspects of life. The best is to wait out the bad luck, and focus on the palace with good luck.

When bad luck strikes the Career Palace, and good luck enters the Children Palace. The best is to spend quality time with children.

The best is to have good luck in Health Palace. Time to enjoy life even when jobless.
