Healthy eating and Raw Food Diet

Raw food diet is part of healthy eating.

You may not have heard of the Raw Food Diet. However, Raw Food Diet is a popular diet for those who want to lose weight, and gain a long and healthy life.

We cannot deny that most of us consume too much processed food. We cannot deny that our generation is the generation of eating junk food. We seldom think of all the junk and chemicals that we are putting into our bodies, until we start to suffer from various ailments.

A raw food diet means to eat food in its natural and unprocessed form. There are many commonsense rationales for the popularity of raw food diet.

Processing and cooking food can destroy many basic nutritional value in the food. While cooking is a way to kill many germs and bacteria in meat and vegetables, it also destroys many water-soluble vitamins.

You may have heard many conventional wisdom for cooking. One conventional wisdom about cooking is to cook pasta just to the medium stage. At that stage, pasta will have more calories, but it will have more nutritional value than if you cooked it to a well-done level.

You may remember hearing about not peeling carrots and potatoes too deeply. The conventional wisdom tells of the nutrients and values under the surface of the carrots and potatoes.

The raw food diet advocates eating unprocessed, organic, uncooked whole foods. The raw food diet consists of fruits, nuts, vegetables, legumes, seeds, dried fruits and seaweeds. The raw food diet means a diet that is about 75% uncooked food.

Cooking changes the flavor and takes out some nutritional values from vegetables and fruits. A raw food diet is actually not a new idea. After all, our ancient ancestors survived on raw food diet.

Our ancestors are stronger than us, despite having so much lower medical care. That is due to the raw food diet. They cooked very little, since fire was a precious commodity.

They definitely did not cook fruits and vegetables. They drank from natural and pure spring water. If our ancestors had our standard of living and medical care, they would have lived much longer than us. That was in part due to the raw food diet, as well as physical activities.

In fact, our bodies were meant for raw food diet. Raw food diet is a way of healthy eating. Raw food diet is in harmony with Planet Earth and in harmony with our own metabolisms. Our bodies were meant to work, and need to work to be efficient.

That means exercise and eating natural and raw foods that require more energy for digestion.
